Scientific activity at Volzhsky Institute of Civil Engineering and Technologies

Volzhsky Institute of Civil Engineering and Technologies (VISTeh, affiliate institute of Volgograd State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (VSUACE)) in its modern status was established on the basis of faculty of Volgograd Municipal Economy Institute and Volzhsky Affiliate Institute of All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Abrasives and Grinding (ARSRIAG) in 1995.

Since the first days of its establishment VISTeh has had laboratory and industrial facilities for research, design-and-development and pilot industrial production in the field of construction, abrasives and grinding, manufacturing technology of composite materials and fluidics.

The scientific and teaching staff in the Field of Construction consists of Doctors and Candidates of Technical Science deeply experienced in developing and testing construction materials, defining reliability of buildings, constructions and engineering structures. Designers and design-engineers of VISTeh are authors of modernization and reconstruction of a number of large industrial constructions and culture-and-leisure complexes located in Moscow, Volgograd, Volzhsky and other cities of Russian Federation.

Scientists and design-engineers in the sphere of Materials Science and Technology work to investigate the chemical and physical properties of abrasive, grinding and powder materials, to develop their application technology, to create new kinds of abrasive tools. A separate work direction is the creation of control systems on the basis of pneumatic automation (pneumatic fluidic elements).

Scientists and design-engineers of Volzhsky Institute of Civil Engineering and Technologies were awarded medals at several international exhibitions.

At the 32nd International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Products “Geneva 2004” the scientists of VISTeh L.V. Rogovaya, L.F. Shmelev, Yu.G. Burkov and V.V. Matyushkov were awarded Gold Medal (certificate # 22537) for Useful Model of “Device for Fluid Level Control on Pneumatic Fluidic Elements”.

At the 33rd International Exhibition “Geneva 2005” the authors V.V. Matyshkov, Yu.G. Burkov, A.V. Vorobyov, V.A. Nazarenko, V.M. Shumyacher were awarded Silver Medal for “Pneumatic To Current Converter of High Pressure” (patent for Useful Model # 37538).

At the 34th International Exhibition “Geneva 2006”:

a) authors V.M. Shumyacher, A.V. Slavin, I.V. Dulichenko, S.A. Kryukov were awarded Silver Medal for the invention of “Paste for the Manufacturing of Abrasive Tools” (patent # 2262434).

b) authors V.M. Shumyacher, V.A. Nazarenko, I.V. Dulichenko, S.A. Kryukov were awarded Bronze Medal for the invention of “Abrasive Tools” (patent # 2215643).

At the 34th International Exhibition “Geneva 2006” Volzhsky Institute of Civil Engineering and Technologies was awarded a Diploma for high level of product development.

At the III Seoul International Invention Fair “SIIF — 2006” (Seoul, Republic of Korea):

a) authors V.V. Matyushkov, Yu.G. Burkov, A.V. Vorobyov, V.A. Nazarenko, V.M. Shumyacher were awarded Gold Medal for the invention of “Device for the Cleaning of Large-size Rolled Metal” (patent # 2273536);

b) authors V.M. Shumyacher, A.V. Slavin, I.V. Dulichenko, S.A. Kryukov were awarded Silver Medal for the invention of “Paste for the Manufacturing of Abrasive Tools” (patent # 2262434);

c) authors V.V. Matyushkov, Yu.G. Burkov, A.V. Vorobyov, V.A. Nazarenko, V.M. Shumyacher were awarded Bronze Medal for the invention of “Device for Blast Cleaning of Rolled Metal Surface” (patent # 2273536).

At the 99th International Invention Exhibition “Lepin Competition” (Paris, 2008) authors O.Yu. Pushkarskaya, I.V. Nadeyeva, V.M. Shumyacher were awarded Bronze Medal for the invention of “Heatproof Concrete Mix” (patent # 2309132).

For the invention of “Manufacturing Method of Abrasive Tools” (patent # 2301737), authors V.M. Shumyacher, A.V. Slavin, I.V. Dulichenko, S.A. Kryukov were awarded Medal of Association of Inventors and Manufacturers of France.

Volzhsky Institute of Civil Engineering and Technologies was awarded Russian Federation Rospatent Diploma for a high quality level of developments at the 99th International Invention Exhibition “Lepin Competition”.

The inventions of the VISTeh scientists were awarded 5 medals at the International Innovation Forum that was held in Seoul in 2010. Three Gold Medals were awarded for the development of the production and operation methods in the Abrasive Tool technology. A Gold Medal was awarded for the invention of the air logic planting apparatus and the Bronze medal was awarded for the invention of the Anti Bedsore Mattress.

Volzhsky Institute of Civil Engineering and Technologies conducts an Annual Scientific and Technical Conference “Shlifabrasiv” which is the only permanent scientific conference in the Russian Federation (www.visteh.net). On the basis of the conference results, annual volume of conference proceedings is published. (www.visteh.net).
